One Edge. Zero Boundary. The View Does the Rest.
This is one of our proudest builds — recognised with a 2023 SPASA NSW Gold Award. Perched above the Kangaroo Valley escarpment, this Compass Sanctuary in Bi-Luminite Viridian uses a vanishing edge to hand the water over to the valley beyond. Alongside sits a 2.8m X-Trainer Spa in the same colour palette — one flowing composition rather than two separate elements.
The Viridian Bi-Luminite colour was chosen deliberately for this site. It's a natural, layered green-blue that shifts through the day — emerald in the morning sun, deeper teal in the late afternoon shadow. Against the Kangaroo Valley greens beyond, it settles the pool into the landscape rather than fighting it.
The infinity edge along the far side is the technical centrepiece. Water flows over the coping into a hidden catchment below, creating a mirror surface that reads as continuous with the countryside beyond. Made possible in fibreglass by Compass's Maxi Rib shell technology — at a fraction of the cost and install time of the concrete alternative.
Behind the scenes, the Vantage Self-Cleaning System circulates water via in-floor jets automatically — so the pool stays clear year-round with almost no manual maintenance. From excavation to handover, installed by our team.

The Illusion — And the Engineering Behind It.
A vanishing edge is a piece of illusion: water flows over one side of the pool into a hidden catchment tank below, creating a mirror surface that reads as continuous with whatever's beyond — a valley, garden or horizon. From the pool deck, the water simply ends. The eye fills in the rest.
For years this effect was concrete-only — the structural precision required to hold a level edge with water flowing over it was beyond fibreglass. Compass changed that with Maxi Rib shell technology, which reinforces the coping edge to concrete-grade precision. The result: infinity edges in fibreglass at a fraction of the cost, and installed in days rather than months.
The Kangaroo Valley site was almost designed for it — elevated, view-heavy, with the escarpment falling away exactly where the edge needed to point. Not every block is right for one; that's honestly the first thing we assess on a site visit.
