What Makes an Express Pool Different
Compass Express pools are similar to a container pool — only smarter. Thanks to the super-tough full-fibreglass construction, the structure isn't supported by steel or wood, which means no risk of rust or rot down the track. Much like a swim-spa, these freestanding pools arrive ready to place in your backyard — but they're a real fibreglass pool, just like the ones built in the ground.
- Fast to install. Your pool can arrive pre-plumbed — fill it up, connect the power and you could be swimming on delivery day.
- Minimal site works. Express pools sit on a 110mm reinforced concrete slab — no extensive excavation or cumbersome engineering, which means less hassle and logistics.
- Light and easy to transport. Unlike a container pool, the super-strong fibreglass structure is easier and more cost-effective to transport and crane into place.

Express Pool Questions — Answered
Everything Sydney homeowners ask us about Compass Express pools.
What is an Express pool?
An Express pool is a freestanding fibreglass pool designed for fast installation with minimal site works. It can sit above ground or be installed partly in-ground (up to 600mm), and arrives ready to place in your backyard — a real fibreglass pool, similar to a container pool but with a stronger, smarter full-fibreglass structure.
How fast can it be installed?
Very fast. Express pools can arrive pre-plumbed — once it's placed on its slab, you fill it up, connect the power and you could be swimming on delivery day. There's no extensive excavation or cumbersome engineering involved.
What site works are required?
Express pools sit on a 110mm reinforced concrete slab rather than a fully excavated hole, so site works are minimal. That makes them well suited to smaller backyards and sites with difficult access where a conventional in-ground pool would be hard to build.
Can I put decking or cladding around it?
Yes. You can attach cladding directly to the pool frame to create your preferred exterior finish, or bolt decking bearers straight onto the support structure — which means fewer decking posts and faster build times. You can also fully deck around the pool.
What sizes do Express pools come in?
There are five ranges: Relax (4m, 5.2m and 6m with optional beach), Plunge (2.8m and 3.8m), Refresh (6.1m), a freestanding XT Spa, and a 10m Lap pool. See the sizes tables above for full internal and external dimensions.
How is it different to a container pool?
An Express pool is a full-fibreglass structure, so it isn't supported by steel or wood — meaning no risk of rust or rot over time. It's also lighter and more cost-effective to transport and crane into place than a container pool, while giving you a genuine fibreglass pool finish.
