Coogee Already Lives Outdoors — a Private Pool Takes It Further
Coogee is one of Sydney's most iconic beachside suburbs — a tightly-held coastal community where outdoor living, the beach and a relaxed lifestyle define the local character. Families who live here have already chosen the water as central to their life. A private backyard pool takes that choice one step further — your own water, your own time, without the public beach crowds and with the year-round convenience that a home pool delivers.
Coogee's residential blocks vary considerably, from compact beachside properties to more generous homes on the elevated sections of the suburb. The Plunge and smaller Sanctuary shapes are particularly well-suited to Coogee's tighter coastal blocks, while properties with more space can accommodate the full Vogue or X-Trainer range. Compass fibreglass is ideal for coastal environments: salt-resistant, non-porous and designed to last.
We serve Coogee from our Smeaton Grange base and have been building across the eastern Sydney corridor since 1998. Visit our display centre to see the full range.

Frequently Asked Questions — Pool Builder Coogee
How long has Local Pools and Spas been building pools in Coogee?
We have been building pools across the eastern Sydney corridor since 1998. Coogee is one of our eastern suburbs locations and we understand the specific requirements of coastal properties including salt-air considerations.
Do I need council approval to install a pool in Coogee?
Yes — all new pool installations in Coogee require approval from Randwick City Council. Coastal properties may have additional foreshore or heritage requirements. We advise on all of this as part of your free quote.
What does a fibreglass pool cost in Coogee?
Pool pricing in Coogee depends on shape, size and site. Tighter coastal blocks may suit compact shapes — we assess on-site. Entry-level Compass pools start from around $50,000 installed.
What is the Vantage self-cleaning system?
The Vantage system is Compass's exclusive in-floor cleaning technology. Water circulates from floor nozzles automatically, pushing debris to the skimmer with no vacuuming, fewer chemicals and more consistent water temperature. It is the feature Coogee customers talk about most after handover.
Can I see a Compass pool in person before deciding?
Yes — our display centre in Smeaton Grange is approximately 40 minutes from Coogee. Come in and see real Compass pools in person.
How long does it take to install a pool in Coogee?
Once approvals are in place, physical installation takes 1 to 2 weeks on site. Total timelines including Randwick City Council approvals, site preparation and fencing typically run 8 to 16 weeks from contract.
