Appin's Open Blocks Are Made for a Pool Like This
Appin is one of those rare pockets of Greater Sydney where you still get genuine space — semi-rural blocks, fresh air, and a pace of life that the rest of Sydney is slowly trying to get back to. With large established properties, mature gardens and the kind of outdoor lifestyle that comes with acreage, a well-built pool is less of an upgrade and more of a natural completion.
The suburb sits at the foot of the Illawarra Escarpment in the Campbelltown LGA, with strong connections to both the Macarthur region and the Wollongong corridor. Families here tend to be owner-occupiers investing long-term — and the block sizes mean there's usually room to install the pool they actually want, not just the one that fits.
We've installed a Vogue 8.2m Pearl pool right here in Appin — one of our most striking recent projects. The Pearl colour against Appin's garden setting is hard to beat. Visit our display centre in Smeaton Grange to see the full range in person, or get a free quote and we'll come to you.

Frequently Asked Questions — Pool Builder Appin
How long has Local Pools & Spas been building pools in Appin?
We've been building pools throughout the Campbelltown LGA and Macarthur region since 1998, and Appin is one of our most distinctive building areas — large semi-rural blocks with real room to work with. We've installed a Vogue 8.2m Pearl pool right here in Appin.
Do I need council approval to install a pool in Appin?
Yes — all new pool installations in Appin require approval from Campbelltown City Council. Most residential pools qualify for a complying development certificate (CDC). On larger rural properties there may be additional setback requirements — we advise on all of this as part of your free quote.
What does a fibreglass pool cost in Appin?
Pool pricing in Appin varies by shape, size, colour and site. Appin's large blocks are generally well-suited for full-size or oversized installations. Entry-level Compass pools start from around $50,000 installed — request a free on-site quote for an accurate figure.
What is the Vantage self-cleaning system?
The Vantage system is Compass's exclusive in-floor cleaning technology. Water is pushed up from nozzles in the pool floor, circulating debris toward the skimmer automatically — no manual vacuuming, reduced chemical usage and more consistent water temperature. It's the most talked-about feature among our customers and a key reason Appin families choose Compass.
Can I see a Compass pool in person before deciding?
Yes — our display centre in Smeaton Grange is a short drive from Appin. Come in and see Compass pools in person, compare Bi-Luminite colours and talk through your project with no obligation.
How long does it take to install a pool in Appin?
Once approvals are in place, the physical installation typically takes 1–2 weeks on site. Total project timelines including Campbelltown City Council approvals, site preparation and fencing usually run between 8 and 16 weeks from contract.
