Bi-Luminite

Bi-Luminite vs Vivid: Which Pool Colour Range Is Right for You?

Both ranges are exclusive to Compass Pools and available on every pool we build. Both are stunning and exclusive to Compass — the difference comes down to the colour technology, the finish and the warranty.

3D Depth Range

Bi-Luminite

A dual-layer colour system unique to Compass. A solid colour layer sits behind a lightly tinted, UV-protective gel coat (ArmourShield) — creating a striking three-dimensional shimmer when the pool is filled. Larger colour chips make the colour pop in sunlight.

The Science Behind Compass Pool Colours

Why Compass fibreglass pool colours look different — and last longer — than standard pool finishes.

✨

Dual-Layer 3D Depth

Bi-Luminite places a solid colour layer behind a tinted gel coat. Light passes through both layers, creating the signature three-dimensional shimmer that flat, single-layer pool colours can't replicate.

🛡️

ArmourShield Protection

An extra layer of vinyl ester resin protects the colour from UV exposure and long-term water immersion — keeping your pool colour looking vivid for longer, and enabling the 10-year cosmetic warranty.

🔷

Large Colour Chips

Both ranges use larger colour chips than standard fibreglass pools. These catch and reflect light, making the water colour richer and more dynamic as the light changes through the day.

Pool Colour Questions — Answered

Everything Sydney families ask us about choosing a fibreglass pool colour.

What is the difference between Bi-Luminite and Vivid pool colours?

Bi-Luminite is a dual-layer colour system that creates a signature 3D shimmer effect, with a 10-year cosmetic and lifetime structural warranty. Vivid is a single gel-coat range with large colour chips for vibrant, bold colour, carrying a 7-year cosmetic and 25-year structural warranty. Both are stunning and both are exclusive to Compass.

How many fibreglass pool colours are available?

There are 9 exclusive Bi-Luminite colours — Atlantic, Evolution, Pacific, Pearl, Pink Quartz, Quartz, Sapphire, Vercoe and Viridian — plus 5 Vivid colours: Arctic Marine, Grey Marble, Ice Blue, Royal Blue and Ivory Shimmer. All are exclusive to Compass Pools.

Does the pool colour change the colour of the water?

Yes — the pool shell colour is what gives the water its colour. A darker shell like Sapphire or Royal Blue creates deep blue water; lighter shells like Quartz or Pearl create bright, light blue water. The colour also shifts with the light, the sky and the surroundings throughout the day.

What is the most popular pool colour?

In Greater Sydney South, the four most popular Bi-Luminite colours are Quartz (warm white), Evolution (charcoal grey), Pacific (aqua-blue) and Sapphire (deep blue). We'll help you choose the right one for your home and landscaping at your showroom visit or site inspection.

Can I see the pool colours in person?

Absolutely — and we recommend it. Our Smeaton Grange showroom has real Compass pools on display in multiple colours so you can see the true 3D effect in natural light. Walk in any time Mon–Fri 9am–5pm or Saturday 9am–4pm — no appointment needed.

Is the pool colour covered by warranty?

Yes. Bi-Luminite colours carry a 10-year cosmetic warranty — well above the 3–5 year industry standard — thanks to the ArmourShield resin layer. Vivid colours carry a 7-year cosmetic warranty. Both are backed by Compass Pools Australia.
