Justin and Renee Magro have run Local Pools & Spas from Smeaton Grange since 1998. Same location. Same family. Same standard. From the first sales conversation to the final handover, you're dealing with the people who put their name on every pool we build.

It started with a family connection and a handshake. Charlie Magro, who had been in the industry for many years, knew Ian Mewett from Compass Pools and arranged a meeting. From that first conversation, Charlie and Justin both knew it was going to be the start of something special.
They set up a site office on Smeaton Grange Road — modest and practical — with the intention to build a display centre where customers could see what they were buying. They bought a few pool shells from Compass and lined them up the driveway so people could walk around different shapes and colours. That spirit of showing rather than just selling has never left the business.
Charlie was Construction Manager and Sales Consultant. Justin was Excavation and Installation Manager. Michelle joined her father and brother as Office Manager. In 1999, Renee joined the business and worked weekends in the display centre. Justin married her in 2002 — and she became Office Manager in 2005.
In 2003 the display centre opened — four pools and a spa in the Bi-Luminite range — and immediately won three SPASA awards. In 2008 Justin revamped it with two new pools and a clear vision: the WOW factor. The result was gold, gold, gold. In 2010 the showroom expanded to five pools and spas.
Today Justin and Renee lead the team. The values they started with are the ones they still operate by — show people the product, treat every customer honestly, build every pool as if it carries the family name.
